I use only quality leather; my leather is dyed instead of painted and it has a matt natural look, I also use leather for the wrapping, please do not compare this Whale Tail Leather Necklace to other similar but made with cheap waxed cord.
Leather necklaces / bracelets are not waterproof. My advice with all leather products and in general with all jewelry would be TO AVOID bathing/showering in them and avoid wearing whilst participating in water based activities
